The need to share grief and remember a life is an ancient one. For 50,000 years, people have been creating ceremonies to say a final goodbye, drawing on the customs and rituals of their time. Now in the 21st century, many people are looking for something different once again.
A funeral ceremony that reflects the life, personality and values of your loved one is a significant experience. As a professionally trained Funeral Celebrant I will work with you, with sensitivity and empathy, to create and deliver a truly personal event.
Whether the funeral is to be held in a crematorium, burial site, or at another location, it is your wishes that are important. You may choose to include a hymn or a prayer, or keep the ceremony non-religious. You might prefer a calm, traditional tone, or something more celebratory. Either way, you can remember your loved one in a way that feels truthful to you and to their memory.
I will meet with you to discuss the ceremony in depth: readings, music, tributes and any special wishes you may have. You can decide how much you want to be involved, and I will support you all the way with suggestions, resources and practical advice.
After our meeting I will liaise with your Funeral Director or co-ordinator, and you can contact me at any time to discuss any thoughts or concerns about the service. The full ceremony text will be sent to you to check, and after the funeral you will be offered a presentation copy to keep.
Other services include memorial events and the scattering of ashes. Please contact me for details.
